Reports suggest that Chelsea are interested in signing Southampton’s teenage midfielder Romeo Lavia but may have to pay a significant fee to secure his services. The club is looking to overhaul its midfield this summer, with Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic expected to be sold, while N’Golo Kante’s deal expires at the end of June. The 19-year-old Lavia is on the club’s wish list, having impressed with his poise on the ball and press resistance despite Southampton’s relegation. However, Southampton is likely to demand as much as £50m for the Belgian teen, who is viewed as their most sellable asset.
