Sofyan Amrabat reveals Manchester United midfielders he admired growing up
Sofyan Amrabat was not short of answers when asked which Manchester United players he admired growing up, naming a string of Red Devils legends.
The midfielder has signed for the Red Devils on loan from Fiorentina for the season, with United holding an option to make the move permanent next summer.
The Morocco international will hope to be a regular in Erik ten Hag’s midfield, and it is understandably great United midfielders who stood out for him as he watched the team from afar.

Asked which Red Devils stars he admired, Amrabat said: ‘I think United had so many fantastic players and young midfielders. So, in general, I look more to the midfielders like Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, David Beckham. But there were so many big players. Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Louis Saha, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo. I can go on for one hour to say names.’
Advice from brother Nordin
Amrabat’s older brother Nordin has already turned out in the Premier League, playing for Watford from 2016-18 and the former Hornets man had some advice for his little brother ahead of the switch to Old Trafford.
‘Of course my brother and I spoke about it,’ said Sofyan. ‘He told me that he thinks that I have to go to the Premier League, it is the strongest league in the world so now I’m here, I can’t wait.’
