Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Manchester United Board Revealed: Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc Join
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has hinted at the composition of his Manchester United board after the presence of Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc of INEOS was noted at Old Trafford on Thursday.
The British billionaire is set to confirm his 25% stake in the club within the next two weeks. Ratcliffe will pay £1.3bn for a quarter-share, granting him control over operations at United.
Hands-On Approach with Expert Guidance
While Ratcliffe plans to take an active role at Old Trafford, he will rely on experts in the field for decision-making. Brailsford, who previously served as performance director at Team Sky, is a close ally of Ratcliffe and is expected to assume a similar position at United.
Interestingly, Blanc, who oversees INEOS’ sporting portfolio, accompanied Brailsford to meet United executives at Old Trafford. This development suggests that Blanc may also play a hands-on role and potentially replace outgoing CEO Richard Arnold.
Ratcliffe aims to finalize the deal within the next two weeks, with an additional six weeks required for Premier League ratification.
