Steven Gerrard is prepared to go all-out to persuade Jude Bellingham to sign for Liverpool.
The Reds have looked shoddy in midfield this season and it is a position that Jurgen Klopp is determined to strengthen.
The likes of Mattheus Nunes, Moises Caicedo and Mason Mount have been linked but the one that the fans want is Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham.
And they are not alone as Gerrard is a huge fan of the England international, who has caught the attention of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
But the Liverpool legend believes he can convince the 19-year-old to move to Anfield over some of the biggest clubs in the world.
Speaking on BT Sport before Liverpool’s match against Chelsea, Gerrard said: “I am sure Jude Bellingham is bright enough to go, ‘there is a stand going up here’, this will be a 60,000 stadium, they have one of the best five managers in the world, they have won the Premier League of late, and they have been in Champions League finals of late.
“They pay very well here – that’s a fact. They have got some fabulous players, they develop players. It ticks an awful lot of boxes but Liverpool obviously, at the moment, are in the middle of the league.”
And when Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand joked he had sold the club well, Gerrard replied: “Because I want him.

“All he needs to do is send his diary to me. When he’s got a free day I’ll fly to Dortmund personally, I’ll take him out for a nice dinner and we will talk about it.”
He added: “I think it’s important he stays in this country. He’s 19 years of age. You talk about [Real] Madrid and Barcelona, and Bayern Munich and I know he’s doing it at Dortmund right now but those clubs are a higher level and you can get swallowed up. There are a lot of world stars [there]. You can get swallowed up by making a move too soon.
“In my opinion, staying in England, staying around this country, getting developed, there is growth and you can evolve. I think staying in England until a certain age, until he hits his peak, is important for the boy now.”
After the comments, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand, who was with Gerrard at the time, tweeted: “Agent Stevie making his move for Jude Bellingham before kick off.”
