Scotland international Caroline Weir is making a name for herself in the Spanish capital, having recently joined Real Madrid. Football Focus recently travelled to Madrid to catch up with the midfielder and get an insight into her new life in the city.
Caroline has enjoyed a meteoric rise since making her professional debut in 2013. She has since gone on to represent Scotland at the 2019 World Cup, and was named PFA Scotland Women’s Player of the Year in 2020. Now, she is embarking on a new challenge in Madrid, and is determined to make the most of it.
When asked about her move to Madrid, Caroline said: “It’s been an incredible journey so far and I’m really excited to be here. It’s a great opportunity for me to develop my game and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
The Scottish star has already settled into her new surroundings, and is enjoying the city’s culture and atmosphere. “It’s a beautiful city and I’m loving it here,” she said. “The people are so friendly and welcoming, and it’s great to be able to experience a different culture.”
Caroline is also relishing the chance to play alongside some of the world’s best players. “It’s an honour to be able to play with some of the best players in the world,” she said. “I’m learning so much from them and it’s great to be able to share my experiences with them.”
