Sarina Wiegman is purely focused on the Women’s World Cup final amid speculation she could replace Gareth Southgate as manager of the England men’s football team.
The Lionesses face Spain in Sunday’s final in Sydney as they look to secure the nation’s second World Cup trophy and first since 1966.
Wiegman has not only taken England to their first ever Women’s World Cup final but also managed the side to European Championship glory last summer.
Speculation of Replacing Southgate
The 53-year-old’s success with the Lionesses has led to speculation she could replace Southgate as England men’s manager when he is expected to step down from the role following next year’s Euros.
Southgate has managed the men’s team since 2018, with England reaching the Euro 2020 final and the latter stages of two World Cups under the former Middlesbrough and Aston Villa defender.

Wiegman was asked about the rumours she could switch the women’s role for the men’s at her pre-Spain press conference but was keen to divert attention back to tomorrow’s World Cup final.
