Jurgen Klopp Insists Mohamed Salah is “100 Percent” Committed to Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has emphatically declared that star forward Mohamed Salah is “100 percent” committed to the club, despite recent reports linking him to a move to a Saudi Arabian club. Klopp was asked about the speculation ahead of his team’s trip to Newcastle on Sunday.
The speculation surrounding Salah’s future has been growing in recent weeks, as clubs in Saudi Arabia have been splashing the cash this summer, already taking two of Liverpool’s midfield veterans. Salah’s agent had recently rubbished any such suggestions, but fresh reports of interest from Al Ittihad emerged on Thursday. This Is Anfield’s David Lynch reported that Liverpool have not received any approach and would rebuff any that did come.
Klopp was asked about his No. 11 as he fronted the press ahead of Sunday’s trip to Newcastle. He was adamant that Salah is a Liverpool player and that there is “nothing to talk about from our point of view.” He went on to say that if there were any approaches, the answer would be no.
The Egyptian King at Anfield
Salah joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma and has since become one of the most feared forwards in world football. He has scored an incredible 91 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds, winning the Premier League Golden Boot in both of his first two seasons at the club.
Salah has also been instrumental in helping Liverpool win their first ever Premier League title and their sixth Champions League trophy. His performances have earned him the nickname ‘The Egyptian King’ at Anfield and he has become a fan favourite.
Klopp’s Message
Klopp’s message was clear: Salah is not going anywhere. He said that he would only think about the problem if it arose, but that there is “absolutely nothing at the moment.” He said it with a wry smile throughout, clearly finding the reports entertaining.
Klopp’s insistence that Salah is “100 percent” committed to Liverpool should be music to the ears of Reds fans everywhere. The Egyptian King is here to stay and will continue to terrorize defences for years to come.
