Ryan Mason defends Daniel Levy for Spurs’ poor season

Ryan Mason, the acting head coach of Tottenham, has defended the club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, as the team’s tumultuous season draws to a close. Despite losing just one game in their first 10 under former boss Antonio Conte, Spurs’ campaign quickly unravelled, with six defeats in their next 10 games and a 3-3 draw with Southampton leading to the end of Conte’s reign. Mason has since taken over but results have barely improved, with losses to Aston Villa and Brentford in their last two games leaving any hopes of European qualification hanging by a thread. However, Mason insists that it is not Levy’s fault for the mess, saying that he has spent money and tried, but has been let down by others. He believes that the 2022/23 season could be an important one for the club, as it can be the catalyst for change. Despite the poor form being evident from the start, Mason believes that the team’s position in the league table was false due to other teams having games in hand.
