After over three years in charge, Brendan Rodgers brought in 33 players to Liverpool during his reign. Of those 33 players, only Joe Gomez remains at the club. Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings, Nathaniel Clyne, Allan Rodrigues, Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino and James Milner have all since departed. The remaining players were either moved on or not considered by Jurgen Klopp upon his appointment in 2015. These include Oussama Assaidi, Fabio Borini, Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Aly Cissokho, Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Lazar Markovic. The Liverpool squad for next season will be made up of players signed by Klopp or promoted from the academy such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones. Gomez is expected to remain a staple of the squad and an option at both centre-back and possibly right-back.
