Roberto de Zerbi Comments on Julio Enciso’s Performance After Scoring in Chelsea vs Brighton 1-2 Match

Date:

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi was delighted with the performance of teenage forward Julio Enciso after he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Chelsea. The 18-year-old, who has been on loan at the Seagulls since January, struck in the second half to secure a crucial three points for his side.

De Zerbi was full of praise for Enciso’s performance, but admitted that the youngster still needs to work on his mentality. “Julio is a very talented player and he showed that today,” said De Zerbi. “He scored a great goal and was a real threat throughout the game. But he needs to work on his mentality. After he scored, he stopped playing and that’s something he needs to improve.”

The win was Brighton’s first in five games and moved them up to 13th in the Premier League table. It was also a welcome boost for De Zerbi, who has come under pressure in recent weeks following a run of poor results.

Enciso’s goal was his first for the club and it came at an important time for the Seagulls. The youngster showed great composure to slot home from close range after being played in by fellow loanee Max Sanders.

The result means that Brighton are now six points clear of the relegation zone and De Zerbi believes that his side can now look forward with optimism. “This was a big win for us,” said De Zerbi. “It was important to get back to winning ways and I’m sure it will give us a boost going into our next few games. We have some tough fixtures coming up, but I’m confident that we can get some more points on the board.”

Roberto de Zerbi’s Brighton side earned a crucial three points against Chelsea thanks to a late goal from 18-year-old Julio Enciso. The loanee from Spain showed great composure to slot home from close range and secure the win for the Seagulls. Despite his impressive performance, De Zerbi believes that Enciso still needs to work on his mentality, as he stopped playing after scoring the winner.

The result moves Brighton up to 13th in the Premier League table and six points clear of the relegation zone. De Zerbi is now confident that his side can look forward with optimism and get some more points on the board in their upcoming fixtures. Enciso’s goal was his first for the club and it could prove to be a crucial one as Brighton look to secure their Premier League status for another season.
