How old is Robert Pires?

Robert Pires was born on October 29, 1973, in Reims, France. He comes from a mixed heritage, with a Portuguese father and Spanish mother. Pires inherited his passion for football from his father.

At the age of 15, Pires left school to pursue a two-year sports degree course in Reims. It was during this time that he made his senior debut for FC Metz against Lyon in 1993.

Who did Robert Pires play for?

Pires began his professional career in France, playing for Marseille and Provence before making a move to the UK team Arsenal. During his time with Arsenal, Pires achieved great success, winning the Premier League title twice and being a key player in the historic “Invincibles” title win in 2004, where Arsenal went unbeaten throughout the entire season.

In addition to his league success, Pires also won FA Cup titles and two English Charity Shields with Arsenal. After his time with Arsenal, Pires joined Spanish side Villarreal in 2006 and later played for Aston Villa in 2010. He also had a brief stint with Indian Super League team FC Goa between 2013 and 2014. In February 2016, Pires announced his retirement from football.

Throughout his career, Pires also represented the France national team, making 79 senior appearances and scoring 14 goals. He was part of the French squad that won the European Championship in 2000 and the World Cup in 1998.

After retiring from playing, Pires took on a role as an ambassador for Arsenal, using his experience and knowledge to support the team and develop young talent. In 2020, Pires moved to Ibiza with his second wife, model Jessica Lemarie. As of 2023, he works as a coach for Spanish lower-league side Pena Deportiva.

Pires and Jessica have two children together, Naia and Theo. With a successful career behind him, Pires has amassed a net worth of around $12 million (over £9 million).

Robert Pires will always be remembered as an Arsenal legend and a highly skilled football player. His contributions to the sport and his dedication to developing young talent make him a respected figure in the football community. As he continues his coaching career, Pires will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the next generation of players.
