Reece James has been out of action since suffering a recurrence of his knee injury that forced him to miss out on the World Cup but is nearing his return.
The Chelsea star was left out of England’s squad for the tournament in Qatar due to the ligament injury he picked up in October.
He made his long-awaited return as the season restarted in December but it did not go as planned as he was forced off after 53 minutes after feeling discomfort once again.
However, he is hoping to make his second comeback of the season soon after missing many key games for Graham Potter’s men.
How long is Reece James out for?
Reece James is expected to be out until February.
After re-injuring his knee on his first game back against Bournemouth, he was forced to spend some more time on the sidelines.
Chelsea released a statement after the game saying: “Scan results have regrettably confirmed a setback for the 23-year-old, with Reece now set to be ruled out for up to a month.”

This makes a second return from injury likely to happen early next month and there are positive signs that he will be back on time.
Last week, Blues boss Potter gave an update on his right back and said: “Reece was out on the grass today, not training with the team but on his own.”
James himself has also posted a positive message on social media earlier this month. Tweeting an image of him and N’Golo Kante with the caption ‘On the mend!’.
The positive updates are an encouraging sign and point towards an imminent return for the Chelsea star.
Although he will be making sure he is definitely fully fit before getting back on the pitch to prevent another setback in what has been a long recovery.
