Reds Say Goodbye to Anfield Roof

Saturday marked a bittersweet occasion for Liverpool fans, as four players bid farewell to the club and the current Anfield Road End made its last stand. It was a bittersweet experience for those who had watched games through the letterbox view of the lower tier, but the atmosphere was still great.

The club is now moving full speed ahead with the redevelopment of the stand, which will be complete in time for the 2023/24 season. The new stand will add 7,000 seats to Anfield’s capacity, taking it to around 61,000. The estimated cost of the project is £80 million and it will include 15,967 supporters in the expanded Anfield Road Stand, 1,000 new season tickets and 3,000 general admission tickets. Additionally, there will be a new young adults section in the lower tier.

The external work is creating a seamless look with the Main Stand, while the concourses and under-cover fan zone area continue to take shape. With all this in place, here’s hoping Liverpool fans have prime viewing for a return to consistent form for Klopp’s men next season!
