# QPR Sign Experienced Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Everton
Queens Park Rangers have completed the signing of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Premier League side Everton. The 36-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with the R’s after making 10 appearances over the course of a two-year spell with the Toffees.
Begovic has won 63 caps for Bosnia-Herzegovina and has previously played for Stoke, Chelsea and Bournemouth in the Premier League, as well as Portsmouth in the Championship.
QPR had been looking for a new keeper after Seny Dieng joined fellow Championship side Middlesbrough earlier this summer.
QPR boss Gareth Ainsworth was delighted to have secured the services of Begovic and said: “This is a huge signing for QPR and for me personally. Asmir is going to add so much. People I talk to in the game cannot recommend his professionalism and the leadership he’ll bring highly enough.”
He added: “He is coming in as our number one.”
Begovic becomes QPR’s fourth signing of the summer following the additions of Taylor Richards, Paul Smyth and Ziyad Larkeche.
## Professionalism and Leadership
Asmir Begovic is an experienced goalkeeper who has been a part of some of the biggest clubs in England, including Chelsea, Stoke City and Everton in the Premier League, as well as Portsmouth in the Championship. He has also won 63 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, making him an experienced and reliable addition to the QPR squad.
Gareth Ainsworth was full of praise for Begovic’s professionalism and leadership qualities, saying: “Asmir is going to add so much. People I talk to in the game cannot recommend his professionalism and the leadership he’ll bring highly enough.”
Ainsworth added that Begovic will be coming in as QPR’s number one goalkeeper for the upcoming season, which is a testament to his experience and quality as a player.
## QPR’s Summer Signings
Asmir Begovic is QPR’s fourth signing of the summer, following the additions of Taylor Richards, Paul Smyth and Ziyad Larkeche earlier this summer.
Taylor Richards is an attacking midfielder who joined from Manchester City, while Paul Smyth is a forward who joined from Accrington Stanley and Ziyad Larkeche is a defender who joined from French side Lorient.
These signings are part of QPR’s plan to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season and they will be hoping that these new additions can help them achieve their goals this season.
