Arsenal may still be waiting to officially announce the signing of Fabio Vieira from Porto but the playmaker is already appearing on the club’s page on the Premier League website.

Late last week, reports emerged that the Gunners had struck a £34million deal to sign the 22-year-old midfielder – who has been likened to Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and laid on 14 assists in the league last season.

While Arsenal have not confirmed the move yet, Porto released a statement on Friday revealing that a fee had been agreed.

‘The club informs the market that it has reached an agreement with Arsenal FC for the signing, on a permanent basis, of Fabio Vieira for the amount of 40million Euros,’ the statement read.

Vieira is believed to have flown to London on Thursday to undergo a medical and put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Gunners.

Although Arsenal are yet to officially unveil their new man, there does not appear to be any reason for fans to get nervous about the deal falling through.

As part of the transfer process, Arsenal need to register new signings with the Premier League and that may have already happened judging by the latest website changes.

Vieira is now listed on the Premier League website as part of the Arsenal roster, sandwiched in between Charlie Patino and Nicolas Pepe, while he also has his own individual player page with his club listed as Arsenal.

While it could simply be a case of the Premier League jumping the gun, all signs would appear to indicate that Arsenal are on the verge of confirming their first major signing of the summer.

Mikel Arteta has already brought in goalkeeper Matt Turner and young Brazilian attacker Marquinhos, but Vieira is the first signing who will compete for a first-team spot.

In addition to signing the Portuguese starlet, Arsenal are also looking to bring in a new forward – with City’s Gabriel Jesus top of their wish list – and have been linked with Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez and Leeds winger Raphinha too.
