# Mauricio Pochettino Disappointed After Unbelievable Draw with Liverpool
Mauricio Pochettino was left disappointed after his Chelsea side were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool in an “unbelievable” game. The Blues had taken the lead through a goal from defender Malang Sarr, but were pegged back by a late equaliser from Reds defender Nat Phillips.
The result leaves Chelsea in fourth place in the Premier League table, three points behind third-placed Liverpool. Speaking after the game, Pochettino said he was “disappointed” with the result.
## Chelsea Take the Lead
Chelsea began the game brightly and took the lead in the 22nd minute. Sarr, making his first Premier League start for the club, fired home a low shot from just outside the area to give the Blues the advantage.
The goal seemed to spark Liverpool into life and they began to dominate possession and create chances. However, they were unable to find a way past Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and the Blues held on to their lead until half-time.
## Liverpool Fight Back
Liverpool continued to press in the second half and eventually got their reward in the 81st minute. Phillips rose highest to head home a corner from James Milner and level the scores.
The Reds had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but were unable to find a winner and had to settle for a point. After the game, manager Jurgen Klopp said he was pleased with his side’s performance and felt they deserved more from the game.
## Pochettino Disappointed With Draw
Pochettino was less pleased with the result, however, and said he was “disappointed” that his side had not been able to hold on for all three points. He praised his team for their performance and said they had played “unbelievably well” against a strong Liverpool side.
The draw leaves Chelsea in fourth place in the table, three points behind third-placed Liverpool. They will be hoping to close the gap when they take on West Bromwich Albion next weekend.
