Pittsburgh Pirates Re-Sign Andrew McCutchen to One-Year, $5 Million Contract
The Pittsburgh Pirates have reached an agreement with five-time All-Star Andrew McCutchen on a one-year deal worth $5 million, as reported by multiple sources on Tuesday.

Andrew McCutchen, aged 37, will be returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates for his 11th season with the club. The Pirates originally drafted him with the 11th overall pick in the 2005 MLB Draft. After playing with the franchise from 2009 to 2017, McCutchen rejoined the team last winter primarily as a designated hitter. Throughout his 15-year career, McCutchen, the 2013 National League MVP and a four-time Silver Slugger, has accumulated 299 home runs, 1,045 RBIs, and a batting average of .276.

Last season, the 2012 Golden Glove winner played in 112 games for the Pirates, recording 100 hits, 12 home runs, and 43 RBIs with a batting average of .256.
In addition to his time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, McCutchen has also played for the San Francisco Giants, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Milwaukee Brewers.
