Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has once again been slammed by Piers Morgan for his treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo returned to the bench for the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Tottenham having started United’s previous two matches.
The Portuguese was an unused substitute as Ten Hag’s side comfortably beat Spurs in his absence following goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
Ronaldo reacted to being left out in typical fashion by storming down the tunnel at Old Trafford before full-time.
The 37-year-old left his seat and walked off in the 89th minute, failing to appear with his jubilant teammates in the dressing room later as well.
Jamie O’Hara branded his actions a ‘disgrace’ while Neil Warnock revealed he’d drag him in for extra training if he was the manager.
Gabby Agbonlahor even claimed Ronaldo should be punished and axed from the United squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.
However, Morgan leapt to Ronaldo’s defence on social media and instead pointed the finger at Ten Hag for the unsavoury saga.

“The way Ten Hag seems to delight in humiliating [Ronaldo] is pathetic,” Arsenal fan Morgan tweeted on Thursday morning.
“Sticking the world’s greatest ever footballer on the bench, making him repeatedly warm up, then not even use him as a sub, is just staggeringly disrespectful to United’s top scorer last season.”
Ronaldo was indeed United’s top scorer last term with 24 strikes – compatriot Fernandes was next on the list down on 10 goals.
However, he has struggled for minutes under Ten Hag, starting just two Premier League games all season.
TalkTV’s Morgan had previously hit out at the Dutchman for overlooking Ronaldo for United’s 6-3 defeat to Man City this month.
On that occasion, Ten Hag had explained that he didn’t want to bring on Ronaldo against their local rivals ‘out of respect for his big career’.
Ten Hag refused to be drawn in on discussing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s actions on Wednesday following the final whistle.
Preferring to focus on the performance of his team after the game, Ten Hag said: “I will deal with that tomorrow, not today.”
