The Premier League season may be under way, but Chelsea are far from done in this transfer window.
Todd Boehly’s takeover of the club, and the sanctions that preceded it, put the Blues on the back foot going into the summer market but Thomas Tuchel’s side have done their best to make up for lost time.
Chelsea have also added Gabriel Slonina, Carney Chukwuemeka and Marc Cucurella, who arrived from Brighton last week.
With Tuchel’s side getting off to a winning start against Everton on the opening weekend of the season, they won’t be panicking in the transfer market, however they could look very different come September 1.
Currently the Blues are looking set for a huge triple swoop with Frenkie de Jong, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Wesley Fofana all being lined up.
And with that trio in the starting XI, you begin to think they could well battle Man City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.
Edouard Mendy is set to be Chelsea’s number one shot-stopper for years to come, but he could have a new-look defence in front of him with Frenchman Fofana joining.

Thiago Silva is undoubtedly the club’s top defender, but with the 37-year-old not getting any younger, it means that he may need a bit of support.
Koulibaly and Cesar Azpilicueta will continue to be regulars in the first team, while Chelsea will be hoping to get a deal for Leicester star Fofana wrapped up, with the 21-year-old arguably the hottest young defensive talent in the Premier League.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho will no doubt continue to be key players in the heart of Chelsea’s midfield, however a sensational hijacking of Man United’s move for Frenkie de Jong could add real quality in the middle of the park.
De Jong would add crucial technical quality in midfield, allowing the club’s attacking talent to really thrive.
Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount will have a big role to play in the final third this term, with a new striker said to be the top priority for the club in the remaining weeks of the window.
Aubameyang appears to be the top transfer target for Chelsea given that the arrival of Robert Lewandowski has seen him drop down the pecking order at the Camp Nou.
If the Blues can get a deal done, he could be a lethal addition to the club’s new-look side, especially given his previous Premier League experience with Arsenal.
