# Pep Guardiola Believes Rodri is Currently the Best Midfielder in Europe

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Rodri is the currently best midfielder in Europe. The Spain international delivered another masterclass in midfield on Tuesday evening as he found the net in City’s 3-1 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.

Rodri, who was named UEFA’s Player of the Match for his display at the Etihad Stadium, looks set to play another pivotal role in City’s midfieldthis season. And Guardiola believes City currently have Europe’s best midfielder in their ranks.

When asked if there is a better midfielder than Rodri on the continent, Guardiola replied: ‘Right now, yeah. He’s the best.’

The City boss went on to praise Rodri for his composure, ability to read the spaces, and his dribbling and shooting skills. Guardiola believes that Rodri has grown into a top class player since joining the club and is now one of the team’s captains.

Rodri has been a key part of City’s success in recent seasons and has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe. His performances have been a major factor in City’s success in the Champions League and Premier League.

The Spaniard has also been an integral part of Spain’s national team, helping them to qualify for Euro 2020. He has been praised by his international manager Luis Enrique for his leadership qualities and his ability to control the midfield.

Rodri has been linked with a move away from Manchester City in recent months, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs reportedly interested in signing him. However, Guardiola believes that Rodri is happy at City and that he will remain at the club for the foreseeable future.

The midfielder has become an important part of Guardiola’s team and his performances this season have shown why he is considered one of the best midfielders in Europe. With Rodri at the heart of their midfield, Manchester City look set to continue their success this season.
