with Inter Milan

Pep Guardiola has named Chelsea transfer target Andre Onana as Inter Milan’s most dangerous player ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final. The Cameroon international goalkeeper is one of Mauricio Pochettino’s top summer targets as the new Chelsea head coach prepares for the 2023-24 season. Pochettino is believed to be a huge fan of Onana and is willing to offer Inter Milan cash plus Edouard Mendy to sign him. The 27-year-old has massively impressed since joining the Serie A club last summer on a free from Ajax. But the current season is not over for Inter Milan, who are looking to stop Manchester City from securing a historic treble in Istanbul. Ahead of the final, City boss Guardiola was asked who he felt was Inter Milan’s most dangerous player and said: ‘For the way they play, with the high press… Onana is an exceptional goalkeeper to take that position to build-up. Really, really good.’ Guardiola also singled out Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, adding: ‘All the processes they do… with Bastoni on the left side especially, is exceptional. The quality to link with the strikers, the ability for an extra pass. We have to try to defend, I don’t know how, but defend these connections. With the ball, try to attack. Difficult against five at the back, we try to find a solution to be more effective to find a solution.’ Chelsea face a challenge from Real Madrid in their bid to sign Inter Milan star Andre Onana, with Mateo Kovacic nearing a Chelsea exit after agreeing personal terms with Inter Milan.
