Paul Scholes upset by Christian Eriksen’s positive interview after Manchester United’s loss to Sevilla.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has criticised Christian Eriksen for his post-match interview following Ajax’s 3-0 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League. Eriksen, who was part of the Ajax side that crashed out of the competition with a 5-2 aggregate loss, appeared upbeat during the interview, which riled Scholes. The former United midfielder was disappointed with the nature of the defeat, citing a lack of fight and individual errors as costly. Eriksen explained that it simply wasn’t Ajax’s day and that sometimes teams have bad days. However, Scholes took exception to Eriksen’s demeanour during the interview, saying he looked “quite upbeat” and questioning why.
