Manchester United legend Paul Scholes expresses concern over Erik ten Hag’s future at the club. Scholes believes that the Dutchman is under immense pressure and fears that he may be on the verge of being replaced with the imminent arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe, who is set to take control of football operations after his £1.3bn investment in the club is finalized, will need to appoint a new CEO following Richard Arnold’s resignation. While Ratcliffe wants to make changes, he is cautious about causing further disruption.

Ten Hag had a successful first season at Old Trafford, but his second campaign has been dismal, with Manchester United on the brink of elimination from the Champions League. The recent 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth was a new low for Ten Hag.

Scholes, although still supportive of Ten Hag, believes that the manager’s days are numbered under Ratcliffe if results do not improve. Scholes questions whether changing managers is the solution, but acknowledges the pressure that comes with new ownership.

Scholes expresses sympathy for Ten Hag, acknowledging that the manager is trying to implement the right strategies at Old Trafford. However, Scholes believes that time is running out for Ten Hag to execute his plans effectively.

Despite his concerns, Scholes does not see any other manager who could do a better job. He emphasizes the need for patience but also highlights the importance of swift action in order to address recent poor performances.

Scholes believes that the manager must take responsibility for the team’s performance and the overall culture of the club. He acknowledges that the current situation at Manchester United seems chaotic and calls for stability.

In conclusion, Scholes argues against changing the manager and advocates for giving Ten Hag more time to turn things around. He points out that previous top-class managers have come and gone without significant changes, suggesting that sticking with Ten Hag is the right decision.
