ParkCeltic Park Kyogo: History and Happiness

Date:

On Saturday 3 June, Kyogo Furuhashi will look to add to his impressive scoring record at Hampden Park when Celtic take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final. Kyogo’s huge smile when the venue is mentioned speaks volumes of his love for the national stadium, having scored a brace in both the League Cup and Scottish Cup finals during his time at the club. The Japanese striker has been in sensational form this season, becoming the first Japanese player to top the scoring charts in a European league with 27 goals in the Premiership. Despite being omitted from the Japan squad for the World Cup in Qatar last year, Kyogo has responded impressively and earned a recall to the national team for their upcoming friendlies against El Salvador and Peru. Kyogo’s impressive performances have earned him a lot of love from the Celtic fans, and if he can produce more of his Hampden heroics on Saturday, that love will only increase. Coverage of the match will be available on BBC One Scotland, BBC Scotland & BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 5 live & BBC Sounds, and live text commentary on the BBC Sport website & app.
