Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially completed English football with Liverpool’s FA Cup triumph over Chelsea.
The 23-year-old successfully converted in the 6-5 penalty shootout victory over the Blues to claim the last missing trophy from his domestic football set.
Only Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was younger when he secured a full-house of trophies available to him in England during his first spell at Old Trafford.
And according to ex-Chelsea player Andy Townsend, Alexander-Arnold was the best player on the pitch as the goalless draw with the Blues went to extra-time and then penalties.
Townsend told talkSPORT: “He has been the best player on the pitch today. There’s been a lot of quality, but he has been a class above.”
Alexander-Arnold’s collection already included a Premier League title, the League Cup, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
With the League Cup already tied up this season, Liverpool are still contenders to secure an emphatic quadruple this term, something addressed back in February by emphasising that the winning mentality at the club has made them a threat in all competitions.
He said: “Definitely on all four fronts it makes it easier having so many great players in the team.
“But the seasons when we won the Champions League and almost won the league we showed people we can compete on multiple fronts.
“To be in all four fronts is good for us. Our focus is on making sure we are still in all four competitions for as long as we can go.”
