# Wolves Shock Man City to End Perfect League Start
Wolves boss Gary O’Neil says it is “massive” to beat a team like Manchester City after their 2-1 home win. The victory ended City’s perfect start to the season and was the first time they had dropped points in the Premier League.
## Wolves’ Resilience
Wolves put in an impressive performance against the reigning champions, showing great resilience and determination to hold onto the lead despite a late surge from City. O’Neil said: “It’s massive for us to beat a team like Manchester City. We knew it was going to be a tough game and we had to be at our best. We showed great character and I’m really proud of the players.”
## Goalscorers
The game was decided by two goals from Wolves’ Adama Traore, who scored in the first half and then again in the second half. His first goal came from a powerful shot from outside the box, while his second was a composed finish from close range.
## Man City’s Performance
Manchester City had the majority of possession and created several chances, but were unable to find the back of the net. Manager Pep Guardiola said: “We had some good chances but we didn’t take them. We have to accept it and move on.”
## Wolves’ Momentum
The win was Wolves’ fourth in a row and has given them momentum going into their next game against Burnley. O’Neil said: “We’re on a good run of form and we’ll take that into our next game. We have to keep our focus and keep working hard.”
