Neymar Set to Earn £129.4 Million Per Year at Al-Hilal
Brazilian superstar Neymar is set to become the latest big name to head to the Saudi Pro League this summer.
PSG have accepted an offer thought to be around £77.6m from Al-Hilal for the 31 year-old, who is bringing the curtain down on his six-year stay in the French capital.
Neymar joined the Ligue 1 champions from Barcelona for a world record transfer fee of £200m in 2017, going on to make 173 appearances for the Parisians and winning 13 trophies.
The forward had not been part of Luis Enrique’s plans for the new season and his departure is an example of the club moving away from the ‘Galacticos’ era of buying players for huge fees on big wages.
However, the big-spending Saudi Arabia, who have already amassed an impressive array of talent in the Kingdom, are happy to not only pick up Neymar’s already lush salary, but in fact offer him significantly more.
How Much Will Neymar Earn at Al-Hilal?
According to Sky, Neymar will be earning £129.4 million per year at Al-Hilal.
This is around six times the figure he was reported to be earning at PSG.
Whilst Neymar’s new wage is impressive, he won’t quite be the best-paid player in the Saudi Pro League.
That tag falls to Cristiano Ronaldo, who is earning £3.6 million a week with Al-Nassr.
Neymar’s soon-to-be former teammate Kylian Mbappe, meanwhile, was offered a staggering £604 million a year by Al-Hilal last month which would have made the Frenchman the best-paid sportsperson ever.
