Neymar Faces Fat-Shaming Trolls Again as Video Shows Star’s Comeback

Neymar, the Brazilian football star, has once again become the target of fat-shaming trolls after a video emerged of him training with his current club, Al-Hilal. The 32-year-old is currently recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained while playing for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay last October. Neymar made a high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain to Al-Hilal last summer, but his time at the Saudi Pro League club has been marred by his injury, which has limited him to just five appearances.

The lack of action on the field has led to fans online bullying Neymar and accusing him of gaining weight. Last month, the footballer took to Instagram to share snippets of his gym session and posted a selfie video in response to the trolls. In the video, Neymar confidently said, “Today’s training session finished. Overweight okay, but fat? I don’t think so. S*** it, haters,” as he lifted up his t-shirt to reveal his stomach.

Despite his ongoing recovery, Neymar has returned to Saudi Arabia to undergo individual training with his club. However, this hasn’t stopped fans from continuing to make fun of him. A recent video clip showed the Brazilian training in Al-Hilal’s gear, and some fans pointed out that he appeared fuller in the footage. In the video, Neymar can be seen working hard with a fitness coach and having a conversation with his teammate and former Chelsea defender, Kalidou Koulibaly.

Unfortunately, Neymar’s recovery won’t be in time for the Saudi Pro League title run-in or the upcoming Copa America in the United States. He will miss Brazil’s chance to seek revenge against Argentina, who defeated them 1-0 in the final in 2021. The team doctor for Brazil, Rodrigo Lasmar, stated that it is too early for Neymar to return and that rushing his recovery would be risky. Lasmar expects Neymar to be ready for the start of the 2024 season in Europe, which begins in August. He emphasized the importance of patience and allowing the body enough time to properly heal and build the necessary ligaments. The doctor believes that after the nine-month mark, Neymar will have made a full recovery and will be back performing at a high level.

Despite the criticism and bullying Neymar has faced, Al-Hilal remains supportive of their star player. In fact, the club has taken advantage of Neymar’s popularity by printing 1,200 Neymar shirts every day since his arrival in the Saudi Pro League. The footballer’s presence has undoubtedly boosted the team’s merchandise sales and brought excitement to the fans.

As Neymar continues his recovery journey, it is important for fans and trolls alike to remember that athletes, like anyone else, go through physical changes and setbacks. It is crucial to support and encourage them rather than tearing them down. Neymar’s determination to come back stronger and prove his critics wrong is a testament to his resilience and passion for the sport. We can only hope for a successful recovery and an exceptional return to the field for this talented football star.
