Newcastle United Reportedly Interested in Signing Chelsea’s Andrey Santos in January Transfer Window

Newcastle United is reportedly looking to sign Chelsea’s forgotten star, Andrey Santos, during the upcoming January transfer window. The move comes as Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, aims to strengthen his squad following a poor run of results. Santos, who is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, is set to have his loan terminated due to a lack of playing time.

Santos has only made two appearances for Forest since joining them at the start of the season, which has left Chelsea unhappy with the situation. As a result, Chelsea may decide to sell the 19-year-old Brazilian, with reports suggesting that Newcastle has reignited their interest in the defensive midfielder.

Chelsea signed Santos from Vasco da Gama just 12 months ago, and he has yet to make a senior appearance for the club. However, Santos has shown promise, earning his first cap for the Brazil national team in March. He is under contract at Chelsea until 2030, and it remains to be seen what price would tempt the Blues into a sale, considering they signed him for £11 million.

In addition to Santos, Newcastle has also been linked with Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips as Howe looks to strengthen his midfield. Despite an impressive top-four finish last season, Newcastle currently sits ninth in the Premier League table after 20 games.
