Newcastle United have completed the signing of 18-year-old Gambian winger Yankuba Minteh from Danish side Odense. Minteh had a successful season in the Superliga, with four goals and six assists in 17 matches. He will officially join the Magpies on 1 July before being loaned out to Dutch side Feyenoord for the 2023-24 season.
Dan Ashworth, Newcastle United’s sporting director, expressed his delight at the signing: “We are very pleased to be bringing a player with Yankuba’s high potential to Newcastle United. He has done extremely well in his first full season in Denmark, and he has a promising career ahead of him.”
Minteh began his career at Gambian side Steve Biko FC before moving to Denmark last July. He has also earned two caps for Gambia in friendly internationals against DR Congo and Liberia.
