Ruben Neves’ Final Act for Wolves Leaves Fans in Hysterics Ahead of Possible Barcelona Transfer
Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been left in hysterics over Ruben Neves’ final act for the club ahead of his possible transfer to Barcelona. The central midfielder came off the bench in his side’s 5-0 defeat by Arsenal on the last day of the Premier League season.
Towards the end of the match, Neves took a free-kick and booted the ball directly into Jorginho’s face from just metres away, knocking the Italian to the floor with the force of the impact. Supporters joked that Neves must have been “trying to kill” the Gunner, while others described the incident as “rude” and “hurtful”.
Reports suggest that Neves is now heading to Barca with his contract expiring at Molineux next summer. He is set to sign a four-year deal at the LaLiga champions, with Wolves paying the Catalan giants £26million and receiving winger Ansu Fati in return. However, Fati is yet to agree to the move, unlike Neves.
Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with signing the Wolves star, but Barca was always his dream move. Xavi has been looking to bolster his midfield for a low price as the club battles financial troubles and losing veteran Sergio Busquets.
