Neighbours Seek Private Security Firms for Protection as Mansion Raid Hits Toon Star Isak
Residents living on the estate where Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak’s home was recently raided are now seeking the services of private security firms to ensure their safety. This comes after Isak became the latest Premier League player to fall victim to burglars, with his home being targeted just three months after his teammate Joelinton’s nearby residence was also attacked. However, it is not just the footballers who have been affected, as non-footballer residents on Darras Hall, a few miles outside Newcastle, have also experienced burglaries.
The increasing number of incidents has left residents concerned and prompted them to explore additional security measures. One resident stated, “Some residents are looking into having private security. There’s a meeting later this month on the issue.” Another resident highlighted the motivation behind these burglaries, saying, “Thieves target these properties because they know there’s going to be watches or jewellery.”
Retired hotel business manager Paul Hopper, 67, expressed his belief that a stronger police presence would act as a deterrent. He said, “If we had more of a police presence, it would help deter thieves.”
The raid on Isak’s luxury home occurred just 48 hours before he played in Newcastle United’s 1-0 victory over Fulham. The burglars gained entry through the rear patio doors of the £100 million striker’s four-bedroom property. It remains unclear whether Isak or any of his family members were present during the break-in or what items, if any, were stolen. However, it has been confirmed that a car was taken and later found abandoned three miles away in Dissington.
The incident has sparked an investigation by the police, who will be looking into whether the same group of individuals is responsible for both Isak’s and Joelinton’s burglaries. These types of burglaries, commonly referred to as “away day gangs,” specifically target high-profile individuals, such as football players, when they are away for matches. England stars Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all fallen victim to these gangs in the past.
In response to the raid, a neighbor revealed, “Police are still piecing it together, but he was broken into. There has been a security van at the house with dogs.” The level of concern among residents is evident, and the decision to seek private security reflects their determination to protect their homes and belongings.
As the investigation into Isak’s burglary continues, the Newcastle United star’s neighbors are taking proactive measures to ensure their safety. The rise in incidents on Darras Hall has prompted them to turn to private security firms, highlighting the need for increased protection. With the issue gaining attention and a meeting planned for later this month, it remains to be seen how these measures will impact the overall security situation in the area.
