Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have been left out of Liverpool’s squad for the Champions League group stage.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in Group A alongside Ajax, Napoli and Rangers and kick off their campaign against the Serie A club next Wednesday.

But Liverpool will be without both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain for their group stage campaign after they were omitted from the official squad list.

Keita is yet to feature for Liverpool this season and speaking before Liverpool’s goalless draw with Everton on Saturday, Klopp revealed that the midfielder will be sidelined for ‘a while’.

‘It’s a muscle injury, Klopp said. ‘For him a muscle injury, Ox is a muscle injury and they will be out for a while.’

Both players could be re-added to Liverpool’s squad for the Champions League knockout phase.

    GOALKEEPERS: Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher

DEFENDERS: Van Dijk, Konate, Matip, Gomez, Phillips, Alexander-Arnold, Tsimikas, Ramsay, Robertson

MIDFIELDERS: Fabinho, Thiago, Milner, Henderson, Carvalho, Arthur, Jones, Elliott, Bajcetic, Clark

ATTACKERS: Salah, Jota, Diaz, Nunez, Firmino

Speaking about Liverpool’s other injuries including Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Ibrahima Konate and Calvin Ramsay, Klopp said: ‘Hendo, we don’t know yet.

‘Calvin Ramsay is still out but really getting closer and closer. For him it was something with his back, something to do with age and growing and these kind of things. He didn’t train now properly with us, but he gets closer.

‘Thiago is the closest from all [of them]. I think the start of the week, next week, he will be in team training.

‘Ibou, in and around the international break he will be back in training.’
