Cleveland Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett to Undergo MRI for Shoulder Injury
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett will undergo an MRI on his shoulder to assess the extent of the injury he sustained during Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos. Here are the key details:
1. Garrett Experienced Difficulty with His Shoulder
Garrett required assistance to put on his shirt and was seen wearing a sling when he spoke to the media after the game. He revealed that he felt a pop during the game but continued playing.
2. Garrett’s Performance and Ranking
Despite the injury, Garrett managed to contribute with a tackle for a loss and a pass break up in Sunday’s game. He currently ranks second in the NFL with 13 sacks.
What Happened After the Game
The Browns announced that Garrett would address the media at his locker instead of his usual podium spot. He was seen receiving help from assistant coach Jim Washburn to put on his shirt over his left shoulder before heading to the training room. Garrett emerged from the training room wearing a sling.
Garrett explained that he was attempting to disengage from a block when he felt a pop, indicating an injury. The full extent of the injury will be determined after an MRI in Los Angeles on Monday morning. The Browns traveled to Los Angeles on Sunday night in preparation for their upcoming game against the Rams.
Despite not playing his usual number of snaps in the second half, Garrett returned to the game and expressed no regrets about his decision to continue playing. He stated, “I’m not gonna come out unless it’s falling off.”
Garrett, who entered the weekend as the NFL’s sack leader, played without cornerback Denzel Ward, who is also dealing with a shoulder injury.
Last season, Garrett experienced stiffness in his left shoulder and missed one game due to a shoulder injury sustained in a car accident in late September.
