Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykahaylo Mudryk is ‘probably ringing’ Oleksandr Zinchenko in a bid to force through a £30million move to Arsenal.

That’s according to former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, who says the winger has the ‘right profile’ to move to the Emirates.

The 21-year-old has attracted attention from across Europe in the last 12 months thanks to his performances for Donetsk.

He admitted in an interview earlier this month that he would jump at the chance to join Arsenal, who have heavily scouted the midfielder.

Yes. I think every guy dreams about the Premier League,’ said Mudryk.

Asked specifically about Arsenal he said: ‘Yes, yes. It’s hard to say but Arsenal is a very good team. Very good coach, I like the way they play.’

Arteta is keen on adding to his frontline but Mudryk is not the club’s only target, while the Spaniard may spend what funds he has left over in January on a defensive midfielder.

And Campbell says the winger will be speaking to country’s captain, Zinchenko, in a bid to force through his move to north London.

‘I like him. I’ve seen a few games of his. Not a lot. But whenever I’ve seen him, he’s looked lively, he’s looked good. Young lad, very gifted,’ Campbell told the Highbury Corner.

‘I truly believe he is the right profile for Arsenal. He seems to have a great attitude. Again, I think he likes the Arsenal. Obviously, his (international) captain’s at Arsenal.

‘So he’s probably ringing Zinny and saying ‘speak to the manager, get me over there’. He’s doing pretty well for himself at Shakhtar. He’s looking the part.

‘Now he’s been linked to Arsenal, everybody’s watching him. I’d like Arsenal to have all the weapons. So no matter what, we could chop and change, and we’re still strong.’
