Bastian Schweinsteiger Urges Harry Kane to Join Bayern Munich

Former Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger believes Harry Kane would be the perfect signing for the German champions and has encouraged the Tottenham striker to move to Bavaria. The England captain has entered the final year of his contract with Spurs and is reportedly the subject of an £86million offer from Bayern, with Thomas Tuchel eager to lure the forward to the Allianz Arena – even meeting with the 29-year-old.

Schweinsteiger is still hopeful Bayern can manage to prise Kane away from Spurs and is convinced they are a perfect match for each other, though he fears the Bundesliga giants will ultimately be priced out of a move.

Kane Enjoys Record-Breaking Season

Tottenham, though, are willing to resist all offers for their talisman – a stance which saw Manchester United move onto other targets – while the north Londoners even hope to convince him to pen an extension. Asked if Kane is the missing piece to take Bayern back to Champions League glory, Schweinsteiger told talkSPORT on Thursday: ‘Yes, 100 per cent.’

Although Tottenham endured a disappointing season, finishing eighth in the Premier League and missing out on a place in Europe, Kane enjoyed an excellent individual campaign and netted 30 times – second only to Erling Haaland.

Bayern Munich Looking for Striker

‘Bayern is looking for a striker, a forward, a proper striker like Robert Lewandowski. Eric Choupo-Moting is not good enough for Bayern Munich, he is more the ‘B’ solution. Bayern Munich, of course, would like to sign Harry Kane, but I also know that Bayern is not a club who will pay as much money as maybe the owner of Tottenham is asking for!’

Kane Tailor-Made for Bundesliga

Asked if Kane is tailor-made for the Bundesliga, Schweinsteiger continued: ‘He looks like a German almost with his blonde hair! Yeah definitely, I think it would be a great fit. Also for him, he has to ask himself, does he want to win a title in his life and his career as a football player? Like a championship or a Champions League.

Schweinsteiger Encourages Kane to Move

‘I know he’s a person who likes to have his family and friends around him, and Munich is the best place for it. You have a beautiful area around where you can live, where your family can grow up, it’s safe. Also the experience abroad, which I had when I went to Manchester United, helped me a lot and I grew as a person as well. And of course, as a football player, he would have a very good team around him and a very good coach. So a lot of things are speaking for that.’

Conclusion

Harry Kane has been one of the most sought-after players in Europe this summer and it appears that Bayern Munich are keen on signing him. Former Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger believes that Kane would be the perfect signing for the German champions and has encouraged the Tottenham striker to make the move. Despite Bayern’s financial constraints, Schweinsteiger believes that Kane could benefit from the move both on and off the pitch and has urged him to make the switch. Whether or not Kane will make the move remains to be seen but it appears that he is seriously considering it.
