David Moyes’ Future at West Ham in Doubt as Contract Nears Expiry
Reports suggest that West Ham manager, David Moyes, may be looking for a new job at the end of the season. The 60-year-old’s contract with the Hammers is set to expire in the summer.
Moyes has been at the helm of West Ham since 2019, leading them to three consecutive seasons in Europe after their triumph in the Conference League last year.
However, recent reports suggest that Moyes’ future at the club is uncertain. There were disagreements over summer signings following the appointment of new director of football, Tim Steidten. Although these issues have been resolved, West Ham may decide that Moyes has taken the team as far as he can on the pitch.
UEFA’s Interest in Moyes
In addition to potential offers from other clubs, UEFA is reportedly interested in offering Moyes a technical role at the governing body. They aim to leverage his 25 years of experience as a manager.
It remains unclear what this position would entail, especially with West Ham legend Mark Noble already serving as a club chief after his retirement in 2022.
West Ham’s Current Standing
Currently, West Ham sits 11th in the Premier League table and is joint-top of their Europa League group. The team is also still in the Carabao Cup after defeating Arsenal and is set to face Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
