Mourinho’s reaction to Chelsea’s Paulo Dybala transfer rumor

Date:

Jose Mourinho has addressed the speculation surrounding Paulo Dybala’s future at Roma, following reports linking the Argentine with a move to Chelsea this summer. While Mourinho remains coy about the situation, it is believed that Dybala has a release clause in his contract, allowing clubs outside of Serie A to sign him for just €12 million (£10m). However, Mourinho claims to be unaware of this clause and insists that he talks to Dybala like he does with all of his players.

Dybala played a crucial role in Mourinho’s side last season, as Roma finished sixth in Serie A and reached the Europa League final, only to be defeated by Sevilla. The 29-year-old’s performances have caught the attention of Mauricio Pochettino, who is reportedly a huge admirer of Dybala and is keen to bolster his attacking options at Chelsea.

Despite the speculation, Mourinho remains tight-lipped about the potential transfer. When asked about the clause in Dybala’s contract, he responded, “I don’t know anything about his contract. But obviously I talk to Paulo like I do with all of my players.” This suggests that Mourinho is keen to keep Dybala at Roma and is not actively seeking to offload him.

In addition to addressing Dybala’s future, Mourinho also commented on his recent touchline ban for the start of the new Serie A season. The ban was imposed after Mourinho called referee Daniele Chiffi “the worst” he had ever seen in May. When asked about the ban, Mourinho shrugged it off, saying, “I am not surprised by anything. With this heat in August, rather than sit on the bench, I will be somewhere nice and cool with air conditioning.”

It remains to be seen whether Dybala will make a move to Chelsea this summer or if he will stay at Roma under Mourinho’s management. The Argentine’s versatility and attacking prowess would undoubtedly be an asset to any team, but it seems that Mourinho is determined to keep hold of him. As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Dybala’s future and whether Chelsea will make a move to activate his release clause.

In the meantime, Mourinho is focused on preparing his team for the upcoming season. Despite the touchline ban, he remains confident in his ability to lead Roma to success. With his characteristic wit, he brushes off the ban and looks forward to finding a cool spot with air conditioning during matches.

As the transfer window continues, football fans will eagerly await any updates on Dybala’s potential move to Chelsea. The Argentine’s future hangs in the balance, and it remains to be seen whether Mourinho’s desire to keep him at Roma will prevail. Regardless of the outcome, one thing is certain – Dybala’s talent and impact on the pitch will not go unnoticed, and he will continue to be a player in high demand.
