Croatia memorably eliminated England en route to facing France in Moscow, but despite a heroic effort, they fell to a crushing 4-2 defeat.

Zlatko Dalic’s men will now be hoping to make similar waves in Qatar, in what will surely be the last international tournament for iconic captain Modric.
