Liverpool were made to work hard for their three points against Brentford, but a lone goal from Mohamed Salah was enough to give them their sixth consecutive win in the Premier League. Salah’s goal was his 100th at Anfield for the Reds, and it also saw him become the club’s joint-fifth all-time goalscorer, level with Steven Gerrard on 186 goals. Alisson also registered his 100th clean sheet for the club in all competitions.
The Reds’ 19 fouls against Brentford was the most they have recorded in a single game since 2015 and the most at Anfield since 2010. Despite this, Liverpool were able to keep their second consecutive clean sheet and take the spoils at Anfield. This win also marked their 1300th top-flight victory at Anfield and their 41st consecutive home league game without a loss.
Salah has now scored in nine consecutive fixtures at Anfield, becoming the first player in the club’s history to do so. He has also become only the fourth player in Liverpool’s history to score at least 30 goals in all competitions in three successive seasons. With three games remaining this season, there could be even more history to come for Salah and the Reds.
