Liverpool Star Mohamed Salah Set to Join Saudi Pro League: Mido Confirms Departure

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has reportedly agreed to join the Saudi Pro League this summer, according to former Premier League striker Mido. The Egyptian international had been offered a lucrative deal by Saudi side Al-Ittihad last year, with a contract worth at least £150 million over two seasons on the table.

Despite the tempting offer, Salah decided to stay at Liverpool for another season, aiming to secure more silverware under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance. However, Mido claims that this will be Salah’s final year at Anfield as the 31-year-old has already signed a deal to make the move to Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Pro League has been making significant investments in new signings, with clubs spending over £700 million in the past year. Vice-chair Saad Al Lazeez emphasized that this financial backing is a long-term investment, with plans for sustained growth and success in the league.

Although former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson’s move to Saudi Arabia was short-lived, lasting only six months before joining Ajax in January, Al Lazeez believes it was a beneficial signing. He expressed that despite some players not adapting or situations not working out, lessons are learned, and the league continues to evolve and improve.

As Mohamed Salah prepares for his final season at Liverpool, fans eagerly anticipate his contributions to the team’s pursuit of the Premier League title. With his impending move to the Saudi Pro League, Salah’s transfer marks a significant shift in his career, opening up new opportunities and challenges in a different footballing landscape.
