Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool forward, surprised fans by revealing his new shaved head on Instagram. The post garnered over 1.7 million likes and drew comments from fellow players Andy Robertson and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Salah’s sister, Rabab Salah, later shared more photos on her Instagram page, leading fans to speculate that the player may have undergone hair transplant treatment.
Following his time with family, Salah joined the Egypt national team for their World Cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau. In an update from the Egyptian FA, Salah was seen in talks with manager Hossam Hassan, providing another glimpse of his new look.
Egypt is set to face Burkina Faso at the Cairo International Stadium on June 7 before heading to Guinea-Bissau’s Estadio 24 de Setembro on June 10. Currently leading their qualifying group with two wins, Salah is the top goalscorer in Group A with four goals.
There are also plans for Salah to join Egypt’s U23s squad for the Olympics. However, Liverpool could potentially prevent his participation in the tournament in France, where Egypt is scheduled to play against the Dominican Republic, Uzbekistan, and Spain.
