Mohamed Salah Hits Back at Critics Over Egypt Commitment
Mohamed Salah has responded to those who questioned his commitment to the Egyptian national team after he returned to Liverpool to recover from his hamstring injury. Salah suffered the injury during the 2-2 draw with Ghana at the African Cup of Nations, and it has been revealed that the injury is worse than initially thought.
The winger is expected to be out of action for three weeks, but there is a possibility that he could play in the AFCON final if Egypt progresses that far. However, Salah’s decision to fly back to Liverpool for treatment has faced criticism, including from Pharaohs legend Ahmed Hassen, who accused Salah of plotting his departure from the tournament.
Egypt manager Rui Vitoria also expressed his displeasure with Jurgen Klopp’s comments on the matter, prompting the Liverpool boss to passionately defend his star player. Now, Salah has broken his silence on the issue, stating on Twitter that he has started the treatment and rehabilitation program and will do everything possible to return to the national team as agreed upon from the beginning.
Salah concluded his statement with the words “try harder,” seemingly aimed at his critics. His agent, Ramy Abbass Issa, was less diplomatic in his response, launching a scathing attack on those who questioned Salah’s commitment and accusing them of seeking fame and attention.
Egypt is set to face DR Congo in the AFCON round-of-16, and Salah’s absence will be a significant blow to the team. However, he remains determined to recover quickly and return to the national team. Salah’s global icon status and the support he receives from fans worldwide make it clear that no social media criticism can bring him down.
