Mikel Arteta hopes transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk and Arsenal fans enjoyed the ‘show’ as the Gunners claim crucial win over West Ham

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is hoping his side gave fans ‘a good show’ in their victory against West Ham.

The Gunners were 3-1 winners against the Hammers, with January transfer target Mykhaylo Mudryk watching from afar.

Mudryk is understood to be keen to join Arsenal, and Arteta is hoping that his side’s Boxing Day performance gave him and supporters some festive cheer.

“It’s a good thing for England that you don’t have many other matches in other countries,” he replied when asked about the Ukrainian watching the game.

“We are the only ones playing through Christmas so hopefully, a lot of people watched our game and we gave them a good show.”

Speaking on Arsenal’s links with the 21-year-old, the boss said: “You know that I never speak to other players that are not with us.

“And it might be that you have to ask me the question, but we said that we will try to find ways to strengthen the team.

“We will find the right players and that’s all I can say.”

Arsenal now sit seven points clear at the top of the Premier League following their win against West Ham.

They will look to reinforce in January, with Mudryk being their prime target for the window.

Arteta’s side have made a £57million bid to Shakhtar Donetsk for the winger, who is focused on a move to north London.

Joao Felix has also been linked with a transfer to the Emirates, with Arsenal asking about the availability of the Atletico Madrid forward.
