Bukayo Saka injury doubt for Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth
Arsenal travel to the Vitality Stadium this Sunday looking to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s failure to beat Spurs in the north London derby, but have question marks hanging over the fitness of a clutch of key players, including Bukayo Saka.
Saka hobbled off during the closing stages of the 2-2 draw with Spurs last weekend, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that he is still an injury doubt ahead of Sunday’s game against Bournemouth.
Arteta also revealed that Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli have yet to train ahead of the game, while there are fresh doubts over Fabio Vieira and William Saliba.
What caused Arsenal’s injury crisis?
When asked why Arsenal’s injury crisis had escalated in recent weeks, Arteta said: ‘Different reasons. Some happen in training, some are knocks, some are very small muscular niggles.
‘But as well the load coming from before the national team and then after the national team the load went through the roof and the demands continue to be really high.
‘The fact we had three or four out already didn’t give enough time to some of them to have the exposure they needed.’
Will Arsenal’s game against Manchester City affect team selection?
Arteta was asked if next weekend’s game against Manchester City would impact his team selection tomorrow, to which he replied: ‘It’s about now , it’s about Bournemouth which is the most important game of the season we have now.’
