Mikael Silvestre Urges Man Utd to Consider Signing Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise
Former Manchester United defender, Mikael Silvestre, has urged his former club to consider signing Crystal Palace winger, Michael Olise, ahead of Chelsea this summer. Olise has been a standout performer for Palace this season, despite being limited to just 10 Premier League appearances due to hamstring problems. The 22-year-old has scored six goals and provided three assists, catching the attention of top clubs.
Chelsea had shown interest in signing Olise last summer, activating a £35 million release clause in his contract. However, the young winger turned down the move to Stamford Bridge and instead opted to sign a new deal with Palace. Now, it seems that Manchester United have made Olise one of their top targets following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Old Trafford.
Silvestre believes that Olise has the potential to play for United and sees him as a good fit for Erik ten Hag’s side. The former United defender praised Olise’s improvement since his days at Reading and believes he could progress into the French national team once he moves to a Champions League club.
“He would bring quality, speed, and he’s a good all-around player who’s direct. He likes to take on players,” Silvestre said. However, he also noted that Olise needs to work on his end product, whether it be in terms of providing assists or scoring goals.
It remains to be seen if Olise is targeting a move to United, but Silvestre believes that the club should have him on their target list. With his impressive performances this season, Olise has caught the attention of top clubs and could be a valuable addition to any team.
