Middlesbrough vs Luton: Championship Play-Offs Preview

Date:

On Monday night, Luton Town and Middlesbrough will face off in a match that holds great importance for both teams. Both clubs are vying for promotion to the Premier League, with Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick leading the charge. With just three games remaining, there are four points between fifth and 12th place, with Coventry, Sunderland, Millwall, Blackburn, West Brom, Norwich and Swansea all in contention for the two remaining semi-final places.

Michael Carrick was not as successful as fellow England internationals Frank Lampard, Steve Gerrard, Wayne Rooney or Gary Neville during his playing career, but he is on course to be a better manager. He has taken well to being in the hotseat at the Riverside and is leading Boro to promotion via the play-offs at 9/5 with Betfair. As for the action at Kenilworth Road, Boro are 21/10 to win with bet365 and a 2-1 victory to mirror the result when they entertained the Hatters at the Riverside Stadium in their first match after the World Cup break is 10/1 with William Hill. Boro striker Chuba Akpom has been in outstanding form this season and is 13/2 to open the scoring with Sky Bet and 2/1 with the same firm to do so at any time.

The match between Luton Town and Middlesbrough on Monday night could be a deciding factor in who will be promoted to the Premier League. With Michael Carrick leading the charge for Middlesbrough, Boro are looking good for promotion via the play-offs. Chuba Akpom has been in outstanding form this season and is a great bet to open the scoring. This match could be a make or break moment for both teams, and it will be exciting to see who comes out on top.
