Former Arsenal Star Mesut Ozil Mocks Tottenham as ‘Bottle Job FC’ After Latest Defeat
Former Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has taken a dig at old rivals Tottenham, labeling them ‘Bottle Job FC’ following their recent defeat.
Spurs’ Disappointing Form Continues
Spurs took the lead in Thursday’s London derby against West Ham United but ended up suffering a 2-1 defeat, marking their third consecutive home loss.
This defeat also set an unwanted Premier League record, as it was the first time a team had taken the lead in five straight matches and failed to win.
After briefly topping the league table in late October, Tottenham’s form has declined significantly.
Since their 4-1 defeat at home to Chelsea, where they had several players sent off and suffered injuries, they have only managed to earn one point.
Following a late defeat to Wolves and a home loss to Aston Villa, Tottenham salvaged a draw against Manchester City before their recent setback against West Ham.
Ozil’s Taunting on Twitter
Former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil has been enjoying Tottenham’s poor form and took to Twitter to mock them. He shared a post highlighting Spurs’ recent woes and wrote, ‘Who else should be able to break that record? Bottle Job FC is back’.
Tottenham’s Current Standing
Tottenham, who were once at the top of the league, have now slipped to fifth place. However, they are only three points behind defending champions Manchester City, who are in fourth place.
They are currently level on points with Manchester United, with Newcastle United just one point behind. Newcastle will face Tottenham on Sunday, hoping to surpass them in the table.
Son Heung-Min’s Injury
Son Heung-Min is a doubt for the upcoming match against Newcastle after being forced off late in the game against West Ham. The club will make a last-minute decision on his availability.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou mentioned that Son was sore after the game and they will assess his recovery before making a final decision. There were also a few other players with minor knocks.
