Kylian Mbappe Undecided on Future as Real Madrid Interest Persists
Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he has not yet made a decision about his future, despite being in the final six months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This comes amidst ongoing interest from Real Madrid, who are reportedly planning to make a fresh attempt to sign the 25-year-old forward. However, Mbappe remains focused on his current season and helping PSG win titles.
The French international recently started and scored in PSG’s 2-0 victory over Toulouse in the Trophée des Champions final. When asked about his future after the game, Mbappe stated that he has not made up his mind yet and has not made a choice. He emphasized the importance of winning titles and mentioned that his decision will not affect the club’s serenity for future challenges.
Mbappe also addressed the previous reports of a deadline set by Real Madrid for him to make a decision. He claimed to have no knowledge of such a deadline and stated that his focus is on helping the team win titles. He expressed that his situation within the club does not interest many people and that what matters is his contribution to the team’s success.
Real Madrid, who were disappointed when Mbappe chose to renew with PSG in 2022, believe they have learned from their past mistakes. They have made it clear to Mbappe that he must make a decision before mid-January if he wants to join them. Despite the previous renewal, contact between Real Madrid and Mbappe has never completely disappeared.
Last year, it was reported that Mbappe had reached an agreement with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi. This agreement allowed Mbappe to stay at the club without extending his contract or receiving a loyalty bonus. The contract was reportedly worth €630 million before tax if extended.
Mbappe recently played as a striker in PSG’s victory, a departure from his usual left-wing position. He commented on the positional change, stating that a good player can play in multiple positions and he considers himself a good player. He also praised coach Luis Enrique for adapting to the players’ qualities and ensuring they perform well regardless of their position.
PSG, currently leading Ligue 1 by five points, will face US Revel, a sixth-tier side, in the Coupe de France next. Mbappe’s future remains uncertain, but for now, he is focused on achieving success with PSG.
