Mauricio Pochettino is a highly respected manager in the world of club football, and he has his wife Karina by his side to support him. The couple has been together since 1991, after meeting at a nightclub. Karina was born in Argentina in 1973 and studied pharmacy at the City’s National University.
Mauricio and Karina tied the knot in 1994, three years after they first met. They have been married for 29 years, and Karina is often seen supporting her husband. However, Mauricio famously banned her from attending matches at White Heart Lane in 2017 due to his superstitions that she may jinx their winning streak. Despite this, Karina still watched the games at home and gave her opinions on Mauricio’s performance.
The couple has two sons together, Maurizio and Sebastiano Pochettino. Maurizio was born in Barcelona in 2001 and followed in his father’s footsteps to become a professional football player. He joined the academy of Southampton during his father’s managerial career at the club and then moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. He signed a professional contract with the club in 2019 and now plays for Primera Federación club Gimnàstic de Tarragona.
Sebastiano, on the other hand, chose a different path and studied European Baccalaureate of Sciences at St Paul’s School in Barcelona. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports and exercise science from Solent University and his master’s degree in science from Université Paris-Saclay. Sebastiano is now a first team fitness coach at Paris Saint-Germain.
As Mauricio hopes to lead Chelsea to victory in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA World Cup, he can count on his wife Karina’s unwavering support from the sidelines.
